Home Lipoabdominoplasty

A well contoured abdomen has toned muscles, firm skin and shapely contours.

Childbearing overstretches women’s abdomen causing tearing of the abdominal muscles. Weight fluctuations in both sexes causes tone loss.

A weakened/separated rectus muscles makes it difficult to tone the abdomen even with exercise and dieting

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck is a procedure which removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tightens the abdominal wall muscles to restore a firm abdomen.

Lipoabdominoplasty is a procedure which combines liposuction and abdominoplasty to remove the excess fat and loose skin of the abdomen.

Preoperative Assessment.

includes a detailed medical history taken, and a thorough physical examination is performed.

Lipoabdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia. Steps include:

Injection of tumescent fluid, a mixture of saline, lidocaine and adrenaline, into the fat cells of the abdomen. This anesthetic fluid helps to decrease bleeding and facilitates removal of the fat during liposuction.

Liposuction is performed to remove fat from the abdomen, flanks and back.

After liposuction, an incision is made in the lower abdomen from hip bone to hip bone. The skin is elevated up to the umbilicus or navel in a plane. The skin around the navel is then isolated.

The muscles are tightened. Excess skin is removed, and the edges are sutured.

Post-Operative Care.

Intravenous medication will be prescribed. You will wear a compression garment for support around the abdomen. Patients are discharged after 3 days. You’ll be required to attend weekly reviews for wound and scar management.
